Nivek Monet is a multi –talented Artist based in Detroit, where he runs his own mural painting and artistic rendering company. In addition, Nivek is employed as a sculptor/renderer at Prop Art Studios. His many works can be seen spread across Metro Detroit and beyond. Some of his murals can be found in Plaka Café and Big City Bar and Grill downtown, as well as in corporate locations in Metro Detroit, such as Lumigen and Everitt’s. He contributed to the 2007 “Tiger Town Street Art” lineup, sponsored by Merill Lynch. This work has not escaped the eye of the silver screen or the media. In a Fox 2 special two hour broadcast he painted in the kickoff show for his live painting and jazz show, “Nature: The Muse of Music.” Moreover, his work on the archways in St. Ambrose Church can be seen in the film “Gran Torino.”
Throughout his years of service Nivek has been a pivotal figure in local Art Education. He was one of the pioneer Artist/Teachers for The College for Creative Studies’ CAP (community Arts program). In the past ten years Nivek has served over 2,000 students and continues this work today. He himself is a father of three. He resides on the east side near the river, where he works from his in-home studio, constantly expanding his scope of artistic and life experience. All of this is made possible by his healthy lifestyle, open mind, and inner joy.
